Is there way to create a main home page with three portfolio categories, and three sub portfolio pages?

My site is PenPaperPixel.com.

So what I want is on the home page have three images in a three column grid layout, one for the pen category, one for paper and one for pixel.

Then the three separate portfolio pages with thumbnails and content corresponding to those specific portfolios.

Make sense.
