Border Around Menu Links

Hi,

How can I add a full 1 px border around the menu links and the category links?

The border I want in the menus can be seen in here: https://s32.postimg.org/yuxaces6d/Screen_Shot_2016_07_29_at_17_41_53.jpg

And in the categories, something like this would be really nice:
