Slider animation speed change has no effect

Hi Mert,
I'd like to slow down the transition speed between my slides (main page). I have used the option in Appearance->Plugins+Sliders and changed it to 2000, then 3000, then 500. It had no effect at all. The change of the duration does work perfectly though. I even tried it in slide not fade mode: No effect either.
Any suggestions?!
