RSS feed not showing excerpts - only full content

Hi,

I have a problem with my RSS feed. I would like it to show only excerpts and featured image. I have found a plugin that works and shows the featured image, but the feed displays the full contents of the blog posts. Is this a theme thing or should I check anything else?
