Creating Multiple Top Level Portfolio Pages

Greetings,

I'm trying to create multiple top level (menu across the top under Search) portfolio pages e.g. Murals, Wall Art, etc. so I need to copy the Portfolio template. If I create a new Wall Art page and assign it the Portfolio template I'm fine until I click on it and ALL the portfolio items as displayed. So, how can I filter the content at the page level? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
